چکیده

tea is one of the most important medicinal plants which have a considerable effect on the treatment of cardiovascular disease and cancer. the drying process of tea leaves is carried out by hot air flow which consumes high level energy. the aim of the recent research was to investigate the procedure of high power ultrasound-assisted drying process of tea leaves. hybrid variety of chinese tea was used for this target. all pre-drying process experiments were utilized in an ultrasonic bath (70 w and 28 khz) and four levels of sonicated time (10, 20, 40 and 60 min). five thin-layer drying models were fitted to the samples moisture ratio. page model was found as the best to describe the behavior of ultrasound-assisted drying process of tea leaves in accordance with χ2, r2 and rmse data. the confirmed model in this research is suitable for the simulation of ultrasound-combined drying systems.

Modeling and Optimization of Ultrasound-Assisted Osmotic Dehydration with Finished Freeze Drying on Black Cherries – The Effect on Antioxidant Activities

ABSTRACT: In this study, response surface methodology was used to optimize ultrasound osmotic pretreatment with finished freeze drying of black cherries. Freeze drying is a separation process based on the  sublimation phenomenon. This process has the following advantages as compared to the conventional drying process, maintenance of the structure, moisture removal at low temperature (reduced tr...

The Effect of Ultrasound-Assisted Osmotic Dehydration Pretreatment on the Convective Drying of Apple Slices (var.Golab)

Drying is one of the widely used methods of food preservation and it is a sensitive food processing operation due to undesirable changes in the quality of dried product. In this study the effect of osmotic dyhedration and ultrasound pretreatment prior to convective drying on quality properties of apple slices was investigated. Apple slices were pretreated by osmotic dehydration in two concentra...

Ultrasound-Assisted Vacuum Drying of Wood: Effects on Drying Time and Product Quality

Ultrasonic energy was applied to assist the wood vacuum drying process. At a drying temperature of 60°C, the absolute pressure was either 0.05 MPa or 0.08 MPa; the ultrasonic power and frequency were 100 W and 28 kHz, respectively. The results showed that the effective water diffusivity of the specimens dried by the ultrasonic assisted vacuum drying at 0.05 MPa or 0.08 MPa were higher than that...
